A Practical Guide To: UK Employment Law
My new book aims to untangle the complexities of UK Employment Law. Featuring case studies of Employment Tribunal outcomes, practical guides to all critical areas of the law and detailed definitions of more than 100 terms. The book is perfect for professionals, managers and their employees.

The journey to writing my debut book, "A Practical Guide To: UK Employment Law", was an adventure of late nights, endless cups of coffee, daunting challenges, and exciting triumphs. Every word I wrote, every concept I explored, was a step forward in a journey made possible by the unwavering support of those around me.

My professional journey began at Sky, a renowned broadcaster and telecommunications company, where I spent four enriching years. Starting as a Customer Service Agent, I honed my communication, problem-solving, and customer relations skills. As I rose to the position of Team Manager, I developed a deeper understanding of team dynamics, conflict resolution, and the importance of a strong workplace culture, all fundamental aspects of HR.

From there, I moved to Webwarecare, a website development and maintenance company I co-founded with my husband, Mark Bear. As a four-year business development manager, I was deeply involved in client acquisition, data management, and strategic planning. This position allowed me to refine my leadership skills and gain a firsthand understanding of HR's role in shaping business strategies.

Finally, I found my calling in the HR sector at LSOP, a residential nursing charity for the elderly and disabled people. Over four years, I grew from an HR Assistant to an HR Officer. I delved into employment law, employee relations, performance management, and HR policies. This role gave me a comprehensive understanding of HR's role in fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Parallel to my professional journey, I pursued an enriching academic path. After earning my Level 3 Diploma in HR Practice from CIPD in 2017, I pursued The Manager's Toolkit at the University of London in 2022. I am studying for an MSc in Human Resource Management at the same university. These academic pursuits have further deepened my understanding of HR concepts and practices.

Despite these achievements, I was driven to share my insights and knowledge with a broader audience. Inspired by my struggles with the complexities of UK employment law, I decided to write a book to help others navigate this dense and mystifying forest.

"A Practical Guide To: UK Employment Law", my first published book, is a testament to the personal and professional journey I have been on. This book will empower entrepreneurs and managers to establish a just and productive work environment.

I am happy to announce that "A Practical Guide To: UK Employment Law" will be available at major bookstores, including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Apple Books, by Christmas 2023. This accomplishment is a culmination of my personal and professional experiences. And while this is my first published work, I intend to continue writing on UK HR-related topics.

The journey of writing "A Practical Guide To: UK Employment Law" has been an enriching experience for me, and I hope it will benefit many others in their professional journeys. This book is about the transformative power of understanding and accurately applying UK employment law, a passion I am excited to share.
